Residents get option of larger recycling cart

Must respond by May 15

CHANNAHON — Village residents wishing they had larger carts to handle their growing recycling volumes now have a chance to obtain larger wheeled containers.

The village of Channahon and Waste Management announced an enhancement to the recycling program that lets residents exchange, for a limited time, their existing 35-gallon recycling cart for a 64-gallon cart.

"We're trying to make Channahon's successful recycling program even better," said Village Administrator Joe Pena. "Offering residents greater capacity to recycle will improve the program, increase recycling volumes, and divert more materials from the landfill."
