DECATUR (MCT) — Police are seeking two suspects after a man and a woman in a green minivan allegedly pulled up alongside another vehicle on Eldorado Street, pointed a double-barrel shotgun at the vehicle’s driver and five occupants and began chasing the vehicle Monday night.

“The victim was in a vehicle with five friends, traveling on Eldorado alongside another car of friends,” Decatur police detective Sgt. Shane Brandel said. “They were throwing water balloons back and forth, and eventually the two cars separated.”

According to a police report, the victims said a green minivan began chasing them on Eldorado, and while pulling up alongside of the victims’ vehicle, the male driver of the minivan pointed a double-barrel shotgun at the victims.

“The passenger in the suspect’s vehicle, a blond woman in her 20s, was holding the (steering) wheel while the male suspect pointed the gun,” Brandel said.

The victims tried to flee from the suspects’ vehicle but said the suspects continued to follow them, Brandel said.

“Eventually the victims crashed their car in a ditch,” he said, reading from the police report. “They went inside a home near where they crashed, and the suspects’ vehicle drove away.”

The incident remains under investigation.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact police at 424-2711 or 424-2734 or call Crime Stoppers at 423-8477.
