OTTAWA, Ill. — Mrs. Thelma Marie (Brue) Thorson, 85, of Ottawa, Ill., died Sunday, June 3, 2012, at Alden Park Strathmoor Nursing Home in Rockford, Ill.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 7, in Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church in Ottawa, with the Rev. Tim Johnson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, in the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa, and for one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.
Mrs. Thorson was born May 3, 1927, in McCollsburg, Iowa, to Ole B. and Anna K. (Olson) Brue. She married Richard Thorson on May 1,1955, in the Helmer Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Thorson was employed as a beautician and L.P.N. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church and the Friendship Circle.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Martha Jacobs,of Seatonville, Ill., and Rosemary Thorson, of Ottawa, Ill.; two sons, Bruce Thorson of Ottawa and Paul (Teresa) Thorson, of Sandwich, Ill.; four grandchildren, Amanda and Brittney Thorson, Ellen Marie Jacobs, and Jacob Thorson; one sister, Carol (Larry) Baker of Batavia, Ill; and one brother, Gordon Brue of Ottawa.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Thorson and Marvel Hatteburg; four brothers, Marion, Reuben, Orville, and Conrad Brue; and her son-in-law, Joseph Jacobs.
