Rose Carpenter

COAL CITY, Ill. — Mrs. Rose Carpenter, 79, of Coal City, Ill., passed away Tuesday morning, June 5, 2012, at her home.
 
Born July 21, 1932, in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Anna Rose was a daughter of the late John Claude and Eugenie Blanchard-Gumbs. She was raised and educated in St. Thomas. On Feb. 26, 1952, Rose married Kenneth Carpenter in New Bern, N.C.

She retired from DeMert and Dougherty in Coal City after more than 26 years of service, and was a member of the Coal City Area Club. Rose enjoyed gardening and cooking, and will be remembered for the cherished time spent with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
