First Christian Church invites children to attend one of the area’s largest Vacation Bible Schools. Over 425 kids and 250 volunteers will be participating in “Sky,” where everything is possible with God.
All children ages 3 (potty-trained) through going into fifth grade are invited from 9 a.m. to noon each day from June 11 to 15.
At Sky, kids discover that everything is possible with God!
Sky is filled with incredible Bible-learning experiences kids see, hear, touch and even taste. Sciency-Fun Gizmos, team-building games, cool Bible songs, and tasty treats are just a few of the Sky activities that help faith flow into real life.
The kids also participate in a hands-on mission project called “Operation-Kid-to-Kid,” which will let the kids in our community show God’s love to children in Africa.
Each day concludes at Fly Away Finale — a daily celebration of God’s love you won’t want to miss. Family members and friends are encouraged to join participants daily for this special time at 11:35 a.m. Sky will be a life-changing adventure!
There is no cost to participate. Pre-register your child by June 1 by calling First Christian Church at (815) 942-3454, picking up forms at the church office, or printing the form from www.fccmorris.org (watch the website in the coming weeks to complete your registration on-line).
Please arrive by 8:30 a.m. the first day of VBS (June 11) if you are unable to pre-register.
Please note that no registration forms will be taken between June 4 and June 8.

First Baptist
First Baptist Church of Channahon is excited to announce its upcoming Vacation Bible School.
Amazing Wonders Aviation is for every age, infants to adults. Participants will encounter God’s awesome power from 6 to 8:30 p.m. each day, from June 11 through 15.

Shepherd of Peace
Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church in Braidwood will host its summer Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to noon each day, June 18 through 22.
This year, children ages 4 (by Sept. 1, 2012) through fifth grade will be going on an “Amazing Desert Journey.”
Registration forms can be picked up at the church office or are available at www.shepherdofpeace. com. The church is at 1180 W. First St., Braidwood (on the frontage road on the east side of Interstate 55, north of Kennedy).

Church of Hope
A free community Vacation Bible School will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. each day, June 18 to 22, at the Church of Hope, 202 N. Monroe, Gardner.
The church invites all children ages 4 (must be potty trained) through junior high. There will be story time, crafts, music and more.
Curriculum for junior high-age students will focus on community service.

Please fill out one form for each child and return it to the Church of Hope. You may drop off your registration forms by scanning the form and e-mailing it to the church, mailing it to the church, or dropping it off in the drop box located on the alley side of the church near the red door.

Bethlehem Lutheran
Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 202 W. Jefferson St., Morris, will hold Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to noon each day, June 25 through 29.
All children who were age 3 by Sept. 1, 2011 through those who have completed fifth grade are invited to attend. There is no cost for the program.
During this “Amazing Desert Journey,” participants will sing, pray, and play as they learn how Jesus walks with them and leads them on a journey to an eternal home in heaven.

“Babylon, Daniel’s Courage in Captivity,” will be the focus for Vacation Bible School this year at First Presbyterian Church in Morris.
Area youth are invited to participate and learn crafts and games just like those kids would have played during Daniel’s time. There will even be some treats he would have enjoyed and stories about him.
VBS will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. each day, from June 25 through 29. Children 4 years old through fifth grade are welcome.

Grace Lutheran
An “Amazing Desert Journey” is planned this summer for Vacation Bible School at Grace Lutheran Church, 10025 N. Illinois 47.
Participants will explore Bible stories, take Bible challenges, make crafts, eat snacks, play games, sing and engage in more fun events.
Students ages 4 through those who have completed fifth grade are invited to take part from 5:30 to 8 p.m. each day, June 25 through 29.

First United Methodist
First United Methodist Church of Morris, 118 W. Jackson St., invites all children to get ready to dive into fun at “Operation Overboard: Dare to Go Deep With God” Vacation Bible School. Explore and experience God’s underwater universe at VBS.
The fun begins Monday, June 18, and ends Friday, June 22, with activities planned from 9 a.m. to noon each day.
The adventure includes regular Deep Sea Voyages into Bible fun and creative crafts, hands-on mission work, water science and great music.

Families of Faith
Families of Faith Christian Academy is now accepting registration for Camp Eagle Summer Camp.
Camp Eagle is for students entering Pre-K through eighth grade. Camp runs through Aug. 10.
Camping begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m., although extended hours are available for those who need them.
The registration fee is $50 ($25 if you enroll before May 12). The cost for campers is $150 a week or $40 a day.
