Grant beats Minooka at State in third place game

JOLIET — One bad inning. Wrapping up the third place game at the Class 4A State Tournament between Grant and Minooka essentially came down to that.

When all was said and done it was Grant out of Fox Lake with the advantage — scoring six of its seven runs in the fourth inning en route to a 7-1 victory over the Indians.

"We got off to a good start. We were able to jump up early, then we had one bad inning," Minooka coach Jeff Petrovic said. "We have up eight hits and spotted them most of their runs there. They hit the ball pretty well."
