Sugar Grove man charged with transporting child porn

(MCT) — A Sugar Grove man was arrested and charged with transporting child pornography after the items were provided to an undercover

agent, officials said.

Dennis Houston, 43, was arrested in his home on June 7, where agents found about 1,300 child pornography images and video files on his laptop computer, according to a press release issued by the FBI.

On Feb. 29, an undercover FBI agent made online contact with another person by way of a peer-to-peer file sharing network. That person was sharing two password-protected file folders on the network, officials said.

The undercover agent began an online chat session with that person who provided the agent with a password to two folders that were provided to the agent, officials said. The agent was able to download 20 image files and one video file of child pornography from the shared folder.

Officials were then able to track the password and files to Houston, officials said.

Agents then searched his home and found the images and videos on his computer, officials said.

Houston appeared before Magistrate Judge Michael T. Mason on June 7 where he was ordered held without bail. He has court date on Tuesday.

He faces between 5 and 20 years in prison if he is convicted, officials said. ———
