BRIEFS: Junk in the Trunk resumes Saturday

The next Junk in the Trunk sale will be Saturday, June 16, from 10 to 4 p.m. in the parking lot behind Wendy’s on Illinois 47 in Morris.

Vendors wishing to participate may set up at 8:30 a.m. A donation of $10 per parking spot will be taken. No clothing articles or commercial venders are allowed. This is basically a garage sale out of the back of your trunk, pick-up, trailer, van, etc.

Three tables are allowed from 6-10 foot per site. More than one site can be used for an additional donation of $10 each. No reservations are needed, you just show up. Each participant is responsible for their own cleanup, which includes cigarette butts, and participates at their own risk.

Sales will be held the third Saturday of each month through October, weather permitting. For more information, call Ken at (815) 942-2032. Leave your name and number and email address and he will send you a list of rules and schedules.

There will also be a special Junk in the Trunk sale on Saturday, June 30, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
LaSalle Genealogy Guild to meet

OTTAWA — The LaSalle County Genealogy Guild will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at the Guild Library, 115 West Glover St., Ottawa.

Rachel Mellen will be the guest speaker on “Genealogy Church Records.”
Community choir plans meeting

All-Community Choir is a choir for music lovers of all abilities led by local music therapist Kristin Seidel. There will be an informational meeting Monday, June 18 at 3 p.m. at the Will-Grundy Center for Independent Living, 1700 Newton Place, Morris.

Fox Players to host Seuss storytime

YORKVILLE — On Tuesday, June 19 at 7 p.m., Fox Country Players will present a Dr. Seuss Storytime Event for all ages at the Community Christian Church at 129 Commercial Drive in the Saint Joseph Design Center in Yorkville.

The event will include Dr. Seuss-themed games, crafts and staged readings of favorite Dr. Seuss stories. The Cat in the Hat himself will make an appearance and there will be milk and cookies available. The evening will culminate in a special encore performance by Melissa (Hard) Collins and Michelle (McCormick) Glosemeyer of their award winning rendition of “Green Eggs and Ham.”
