ST. LOUIS (MCT) — Chris Sale already has exceeded his 2011 innings total thanks in part to a swimming regimen he incorporated into his offseason training program, and the White Sox 's prized left-hander would like to resume water workouts to help his stamina the rest of the season.

"Chicago in the (early season) isn't the best swimming weather, but I've definitely thought about it," Sale said Wednesday. "I'd like to be able to find somewhere I could actually do it."

Sale reiterated he decided to include swimming in his winter workouts after watching his 53-year-old father, Allen, swim. The younger Sale would swim after dinner during the winter.
