Walter Joseph Martin

COAL CITY, Ill. — Mr. Walter Joseph “Wally” Martin, 62, a lifelong resident of Coal City, Ill., passed away Wednesday evening, June 13, 2012, at Embassy Care Center in Wilmington.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday June 16, at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 245 South Kankakee St., Coal City, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with the Rev. Robert Noesen officiating. Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery

Born May 30, 1950, in Morris, Ill., Walter was a son of the late Joseph and Wilma Carnegie-Martin. He was raised and educated in Coal City, attending the Catholic grade school through the eighth grade, and graduating from Coal City High School with the Class of 1969.
