Police raid home, find child porn, marijuana

Harvey held on pornography charges

COAL CITY — A Coal City man was charged with multiple counts of possessing child pornography Thursday, following a police raid on his home Wednesday morning.

State's Attorney John Bates said Richard J. Harvey, 41, was charged with three counts of aggravated child pornography for three videos found on his computer hard drive depicting a female child under the age of 13 engaging in sexual acts with adults.

Coal City Police Chief Tom Best said that the raid took place at about 6:30 a.m., when officers from his department, along with Will County Sheriff's Department investigators, special agents of the Will County State's Attorney's Office, and Channahon Police Department executed a search warrant for child pornography at Harvey's home, located at 355 N. Shabbona Street.
