Most people who were raised in Morris remember Michael “Mick” Peterson. And still many others who follow local and area prep football will recall Mick from his coaching days at Pontiac High School, a rival of the Morris Redskins.

Morris and Pontiac had some classic battles years ago. It was Darlington against Peterson. The Indians versus the Redskins. There were Petersons playing against Petersons in many cases. Who the heck did “Mom” Agnes Peterson root for during those games? She had sons and grandsons competing against each other.
