Wisconsin election complaint has Illinois connection

(MCT) — A Racine, Wis., resident says a poll observer tried to intimidate her as she cast a vote during Wisconsin's contentious June 5 recall election. Only later did she find out that the observer was an elected official from just over the border in Illinois.

Lake County Clerk Willard Helander, who joined throngs of Illinois Republicans in a successful volunteer effort to fend off the recall of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, is named in a complaint filed by Nicala Aiello with the state's Government Accountability Board.
