Youths of all ages benefit from Indian Pride clinics
Benjamin Clark of Channahon was practicing running the hurdles on Tuesday at the Minooka Community High School track. While that may sound like standard fare at the home of the Indians these days, what makes Clark's participation in the event unique is that he is just two-years old.
Clark and plenty other track enthusiasts were involved in the first of three annual Indian Pride Track and Field Meets, starting first with two free clinics before competing in the event. Minooka junior hurdler Zach Zamora put on the hurdling clinic and Leslie Hencinski, an assistant cross country coach to Kevin Gummerson, put on the shot clinic.
Both clinics were held before Gummerson opened up the competitive events at the meet.
