Channahon’s substitute bus drivers want clearer policy

Group expected to voice concerns at Monday’s meeting

CHANNAHON — Some Channahon substitute bus drivers are expected to attend Monday evening’s Channahon School District 17 meeting to address ongoing concerns about policy.

A group of them appeared before the board in May asking for clearer understanding of the board’s policy regarding seniority and hiring of new drivers and other issues.

Substitute drivers Dawn Breen and Michelle Kokalj asked the board for a meeting on the issues. The closed session meeting that followed from that request yielded little, Breen said later.
