ComEd officials shed light on service upgrades

Digital needs require improvements to power system

It may take a while, but big changes are coming to the area’s electrical grid that are aimed at making service more reliable and customer-friendly, especially during storms.

ComEd CEO Anne Pramaggiore and COO Terry Donnelly, along with other ComEd officers and engineers, were in Morris Thursday night to bring locals up to date on some upgrades that will be phasing in soon, governed by the recent EIMA (Energy Infrastructure Modernization Act) approved by the Illinois General Assembly last year.

State Sen. Sue Rezin, R-Morris, and State Rep. Pam Roth, R-Morris, hosted the town hall meeting.

What is your stance on a proposed 1 percent sales tax to fund local school building projects?

I'm in favor of anything that will help improve school finances
I will support it if it helps to lower my property taxes
I oppose it because I don't believe it will impact property taxes and I will just pay twice
I'm against any additional taxes
I have not heard enough yet to form an opinion
