Mr. Jackie Gene Thompson, 72, of Kirksville, Mo., formerly of Morris, Ill., passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at his home.

Born Oct. 7, 1939, in Galatia, Ill., Jackie was the son of Edmond and Imagene (Hale) Thompson. In 1966, Jackie married Jeanne Franklin, and to this union, two children were born. In 1985, he married Donna Briscoe, and to this union, one daughter was born.

Survivors include one son, Jack Franklin Thompson of Novinger, Mo.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sheila and Victor Hargis of Morris, and Lauren Thompson of Kirksville, Mo.; four grandchildren, Andrew Hargis, Katherine Hargis, Bella Green and Jenna Thompson; and his special friend, Donna Briscoe.
