Park District plans festive Fourth of July
Raffle winner gets to light the event’s fireworks
CHANNAHON — The Channahon Park District is hosting the annual Independence Day Celebration Wednesday, July 4th at Community Park.
Festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. with the Children’s Freedom Parade where kids can decorate their bikes, big wheels, scooters, or wagons with patriotic decorations and then participate in the parade to show off their American pride.
The evening will also include a popsicle giveaway, dodgeball, face painting, inflatable jumpers, games and activities for the kids, concert in park featuring the ‘DuPage’ band and finishes off with an amazing fireworks display.
This is a free event that promises to be fun and memorable for the whole family. A concession stand will be available for food and snacks. Community Park is located on McClintock Road, one mile east of I-55.
Want to be the one to light the Independence Day Fireworks? Raffle tickets are available at Arrowhead Community Center (24856 W Eames St) or the night of the event.
Tickets are only $5 and proceeds benefit the George A. McCoy Financial Assistance Program.
