Postives, negatives emerge from Dist. 54 survey

Some see concerns, others see need for clarification

White Oak Elementary School Principal Chris Maier presented the results of the Morris Elementary School District 54 climate and culture survey to the Board of Education last Monday evening.

"The driving force behind this is to see what kind of state the district is in and how we can take those concerns and tie them into our strategic management plan and make sure some of the concerns of our staff are in fact addressed," Maier said to the board.

In the district's annual goal-setting session, a new goal area was created for the strategic management plan: develop and maintain a positive and professional environment. An action plan listed under that new goal was the climate and culture survey "to identify positives and negatives in buildings and at district level."
