Rain barrels still available for SWCD challenge

Artists can be individuals or groups and must be 16 years of age or older. They are asked to create conservation/nature inspired sketches to be painted on a rain barrel. The designs must incorporate 360 degrees around the barrel. From sketches submitted, eight artists will be selected to transfer their work to a rain barrel provided by the district. Completed rain barrels are due back to the Grundy County SWCD Office on July 11 by 3 p.m.
Interested artists can send their name, contact information and sketch to the Grundy County SWCD, 3605 N. Illinois Route 47, Suite B, Morris, IL 60450. You may also stop by the SWCD office and have it approved on the spot and then take your rain barrel home with you to begin painting. Call the office at (815) 942-0359, ext 3 with questions or concerns.
