Deputies make battery arrest following Homecoming

Grundy County deputies arrested a Braceville woman Monday in Morris after they said she battered a woman at Carbon Hill Homecoming Friday night.

According to Grundy County Sheriff’s Department records, at about 2:45 p.m. Saturday, a man and a woman reported the battery to a deputy at the sheriff’s department in Morris. The two said the man’s ex-girlfriend, Vanessa D. Saunders, 19, of Braceville, approached them at the Carbon Hill event and attempted to corner the man to talk about their relationship.
