Toastmasters elect Glaser president for 2012-13

Morris Area Toastmasters recently elected Terry Glaser president for the 2012-2013 term. Glaser, who joined the club in 2008, is also president of the newly-chartered Illinois Valley Toastmasters Club in Peru.

As Morris Area president, Glaser will oversee educational and leadership programs with a focus on achieving distinguished club goals.

Other new officers are Dwayne Mickelson, educational vice president; Marjorie Stuedemann, membership vice president; Lyndon Rich, public relations vice president; Nick Rakes, secretary; Frank Hankins, treasurer; and Janie Larson, sergeant-at-arms.

Morris Toastmasters meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Morris Hospital Education Room. Members gain valuable experience by giving short speeches in front of the club. They also learn to speak off-the-cuff. Additional members are sought.
