Intoxicated pedestrian struck while on I-80

Man was trying to direct traffic after vehicle ran out of gas

A Crest Hill man was transported to a local hospital Thursday night after he was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 80 near Minooka.

At about 6:40 p.m., Sgt. Scott Angus of the Illinois State Police said a trooper was dispatched to mile marker 122 on westbound I-80.

Angus said the man, Jack Wislocki, 42, of Crest Hill, was with another man in a van that ran out of gas and pulled onto the right shoulder of the road. As one man attempted to put gas in the vehicle, Wislocki allegedly walked into the right lane of traffic to direct traffic when he was struck by a vehicle.
