Peter R. Olson

Mr. Peter R. "Quie" Olson, 88, of Morris and formerly Galesburg, Ill., passed away peacefully Monday, July 2, 2012 at his home with his family by his side.

He was born Nov. 30, 1923, in Galesburg, where he was a longtime resident, until relocating to Morris seven years ago. A U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran of WWII, Pete was a P.O.W. as the result of his plane going down during the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the DAV.

Pete retired from Butler Manufacturing of Galesburg in 1984. He was previously employed for many years as an Industrial Oil Sales Rep for City Services. He enjoyed watching Cubs games with his wife. He was a Chicago Bears and college football fan, and he was an avid reader, but his true hobby was golf. His other passion was spending time with family.
