Continuing through 4 p.m. today, Friday, July 6, and again from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 7, the church will offer clothing, toys and games, home decor, costume jewelry, lawn & garden items, seasonal decorations, books, collectibles, tools, estate items, junque and treasures of all kinds!

Our Savior’s Lutheran sets pork chop dinner Saturday
SENECA — Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 300 E. Union St., Seneca, is sponsoring a pork chop dinner on Saturday, July 7, from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
Cost for one pork chop is $8; two pork chops, $9; and a hot dog dinner, $4.

Mass for Life to be celebrated Saturday at Catholic church
The Pro-Life Ministry extends an invitation to you to attend The First Saturday Mass for Life on Saturday, July 7, at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 516 East Jackson St., Morris.
The service will start with the Rosary being recited at 10:30 a.m. Father Ed Howe, C.R. will officiate at the Mass at 11 a.m.
Donations for Under His Wings will be taken before and after all masses this weekend. Items needed include diapers, baby wipes, baby wash, shampoo, lotions, etc.

VERONA — The 31st annual homemade ice cream social of the Verona United Methodist Church will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at the church.

Joliet Jewish Congregation announces services and events

Meal for seniors served second Wednesday monthly
A nutritious meal will be provided by the Senior Service Center of Will County and Channahon Township for residents 60 years or older.
The luncheon will be served at 11:30 on the second Wednesday of each month, including on July 10, at Channahon United Methodist Church, 24751 W.Eames St. The minimum suggested donation is $3.

Friends in Christ offers InterGen Sunday School on second Sundays
On the second Sunday of each month (including July 14), the Family Bible Study at Friends in Christ Lutheran Church becomes “InterGen,” a Sunday school focused on the children of the congregation, but also including all of the adults.
Innovative lessons, activities and crafts characterize these classes. Adults assist children in all activities, while the children help adults gain fresh perspective on God’s Word.
Need a place to study the Bible with your whole family? Try InterGen on each second Sunday at 9:45 a.m. at Friends in Christ Lutheran Church, 180 E. Waverly.

Performers Wanted For Gospel Music Night in Washington Park
OTTAWA, Ill. — Applications are being accepted from musicians of the La Salle County area to perform at the Ottawa Gospel Music Night in Washington Park from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 14.
Approximately 10 to 15 local musicians will be selected to perform Christian worship music, including hymns, contemporary, folk, country, bluegrass, southern Gospel and other genres as well.
Each applicant will be allotted from six to ten minutes to perform their song or songs. Solos, duets, trios, quartets and small choirs are encouraged to apply. They will not be able to accommodate bands or performers who will require lengthy set up time.
Those wishing to apply should send an email to gospelmusicnight@gmail.com to introduce themselves and describe their performance and other information for the selection committee to consider. The committee will be selecting based on quality and variety. Lesser-experienced musicians are also encouraged to apply.

Paterson will speakt at ladies breakfast about cutting stress
JOLIET — All area ladies are invited to enjoy a delicious breakfast while a representative of Operation Care Package shares what they do for soldiers captured by the Taliban.
The breakfast will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, at Joliet Country Club, 1009 Spencer Road, Joliet. The cost is $12 inclusive for the meal, which the Joliet Area Christian Women’s Connection sponsors.
The featured speaker for July will be Star Paterson from Carmel, Ind. She has a background in social work and counseling and currently trains leaders in a variety of settings.
She will share how her fears change to ’peace’ in her talk, “Less Stress, Please!”

Mobile pantry to be at Channahon Baptist church evening of Aug. 16
CHANNAHON - The Northern Illinois Food Bank’s Mobile Pantry will be held at the First Baptist Church, 25124 S. Fryer St., Channahon on Thursday, Aug. 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. or while supplies last.
Sponsored by the Channahon Township Living Manna Food Pantry, there is no charge to recipients. Carts or wagons are helpful for transporting your food and grocery products through the line and back to your vehicle. Open to low income and needy families, food will be distributed on a first come-first served basis.
Individuals are asked to bring photo identification, voter’s registration card, and bags or boxes for food.
Catholic Charities programs needs senior companions for seniors
Catholic Charities Senior Companion Program is looking for people 55 years and older who are interested in visiting with another senior who is homebound.
Volunteers who meet the income guideline will receive a tax-free hourly stipend and a mileage reimbursement for time spent with clients.
The possibilities are endless: have a cup of coffee, take a walk in the yard, go out to lunch, shop, or transport to an appointment. This is strictly a friendly visit, no homecare duties are involved.
