Giving a ‘Hoo’
LaSalle Station grant helps bring wildlife to local students
MARSEILLES — The cavernous gymnasium at Marseilles Elementary School was quiet, even though it was filled with row upon row of typically noisy students.
The youngsters were asked to make as little sound as possible as they watched a red tail hawk and an owl brought in by the wildlife organization “Hoo” Haven. Both the red tail hawk and the owl watched the children intently, as they remained perched on the handler’s arm.
