Police: Driver distracted by children before accident

A Morris man was cited after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday.

According to Morris Police Department records, a 2003 Saturn Vue driven by Lesia M. Knox, 22, of Joliet, Ill., was traveling eastbound on George Street at Newton Drive. She was struck by a 2006 Kia vehicle driven by James J. Turas, 41, of 126 Brentwood Dr., which was traveling northbound on Newton Drive.

Turas told the officer he stopped at the stop sign, was distracted by his kids yelling in the car and did not notice Knox when he started to enter the intersection.
