Semi driver injured, cited in two-vehicle crash

One person was transported to an area hospital Tuesday after a two-vehicle crash on Illinois 47.

According to the Grundy County Sheriff's Department crash report, the crash took place at about 5:30 a.m. at 5600 Illinois 47, south of E. Grinter Road in Mazon Township, when a 1985 Chevy vehicle driven by Ronald D. Lantz, 52, of Mazon, slowed to make a left turn into a driveway.

Lantz reportedly signaled to make the turn before a semi-trailer driven by Kyle D. Muench, 34, of Aurora, Ill., attempted to pass Lantz on the left and sideswiped Lantz's vehicle.
