Motorists: Change is good

Drop in gas prices is welcomed, but may be temporary

Consumers are seeing lower prices at area gas pumps, but experts aren't sure just how long they'll stick around.

Morris retailer Kim Fina said she hopes the lower prices are here to stay, both as a driver and as a business owner who would like to see more traffic in her downtown store, The Feathered Nest. As for now, she's trying to make the most out of her gas dollars.

"I do a lot of driving back and forth, and it makes a big difference," she said. "You try to do everything in one trip."

What is your stance on a proposed 1 percent sales tax to fund local school building projects?

I'm in favor of anything that will help improve school finances
I will support it if it helps to lower my property taxes
I oppose it because I don't believe it will impact property taxes and I will just pay twice
I'm against any additional taxes
I have not heard enough yet to form an opinion
