Many are no longer sweet on soft drinks
(MCT) — The war on soft drinks and other sweet beverages continued last week as the American Cancer Society's advocacy affiliate called on the U.S. surgeon general to study the health effects of sugary drinks.
From New York City to Los Angeles, some health care officials and political leaders want to ban supersized sodas or tax sweetened beverages. Limiting sugary drinks or slapping a tax on them will help combat the nation's obesity epidemic, some say.
