Meucci steps in for Sloan on MCHS board

Former Nettle Creek board president joins Dist. 101

The Morris Community High School District 101 board's first order of business Monday was swearing in new board member Karen Meucci.

In May, the board accepted the resignation of 13-month board member Damon Sloan. Sloan, who was board secretary, is moving out of the district. The board interviewed five candidates for the position: Robert Strandell, Robert Narvick, Judy Miller, Steve Stangland and Meucci.

But last month, the board voted 3 to 3 for three of the candidates: first Stangland, then Narvick and, lastly, Meucci. The lack of an appointment left the decision to Regional Superintendent of Schools Paul Nordstrom, but he sent it back to the board to try again.
