Whistlin' Dixieland

Banjo Buddies to perform Thursday in Morris

Ann Stewart and the Banjo Buddies Dixieland Band, based in the Chicagoland area, will perform from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 12, on the Grundy County Courthouse lawn.

Named Entertainers of the Year, this band is one of the most unique and exciting musical attractions around today. This is not a "banjo band" as their name might imply, this is a high-energy Dixieland show band.

Often called the Diva of Dixieland, leader Ann Stewart is featured on jazz banjo and is known for her sultry vocal style. Her energy and enthusiasm fuels the exclusive arrangement performed by the group, which includes the dynamic and powerful horns of Tim Stewart on trombone, Al Ramsey on trumpet, and the driving rhythm section of the talented and versatile Verne Rind on drums and Mike Zudis on bass.
