Church renews request to use Erienna School

Nettle Creek board to draft one-year lease for congregation's consideration

A one-year lease will be drafted for negotiation between Nettle Creek School's Board of Education and Pastor Joel Robertson and his congregation regarding use of the old Erienna School in Morris.

In June, Robertson and several members of his congregation approached the board to ask permission to use the property to start a new church. At the time, Robertson said they were interested in leasing, renting or buying Erienna from Nettle Creek.

The Erienna property – three acres of land located about one mile south of U.S. 6 on Nettle School Road in Morris – was a three-grade school building in the Nettle Creek District. Once additions were made to the Nettle Creek building a few years ago, all of the students were united at that location and Erienna became a storage facility.
