Fielder comes on strong in Round 2, wins the event for 2nd time
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (MCT) — Detroit Tigers first baseman Prince Fielder, who squeaked out of the first round, found his Home Run Derby groove thereafter and won his second championship in the last four editions of the event Monday night at Kauffman Stadium.
Fielder, who also prevailed at Busch Stadium in St. Louis 2009 when he was a member of the Milwaukee Brewers, hit only five homers in the first round Monday but then bashed 11 in the second round.
