Former Missouri governor gets probation for illegal political donations

ST. LOUIS (MCT) — Former Missouri Gov. Roger Wilson was sentenced in federal court Monday to two years of probation and fined $5,000 for misusing money from a state-created company to make political donations.

His co-defendant, lawyer Edward Griesedieck III, received one year of probation and the same fine. Together, they were ordered to repay a $5,000 donation that had been hidden in a legal bill to Missouri Employers Mutual Co., a workers’ compensation insurance company, for which Wilson was chief executive. They were also ordered to perform 100 hours of community service.

I'm in favor of anything that will help improve school finances
I will support it if it helps to lower my property taxes
I oppose it because I don't believe it will impact property taxes and I will just pay twice
I'm against any additional taxes
I have not heard enough yet to form an opinion
