Drum corps to visit two local high schools

Drum Corps International will visit Grundy County this Friday, July 13.

The Cavaliers Corps is hosting a DCI show at Benedictine University in Lisle at 7 p.m. on Friday. A bus trip to the event for Morris band students has been organized.

Two local high schools are opening their campuses to corps that will compete that night. The Blue Knights, from Denver, will be at Morris Community High School, and the Madison Scouts will be at Coal City High School.

Both corps are expected to arrive between Thursday night and Friday morning, perform sectionals Friday morning and practice on the schools’ football fields Friday afternoon.
