One teen arrested for DUI, others cited for alcohol use

A Mazon teenager was arrested and additional teens in her vehicle were cited for an alcohol charge following a traffic stop Thursday night.

According to Grundy County Sheriff's Department records, at about 11:25 p.m., deputies were tipped off by Seneca Police about a vehicle that had left the area whose occupants were causing trouble. Seneca Police also believed the driver was driving under the influence.

A deputy spotted the vehicle and pulled it over for a traffic stop after observing the vehicle having difficulty maintaining its lane and failed to come to a complete stop for a stop sign in the area of 8999 Old Stage Road and La Salle Road.

What is your stance on a proposed 1 percent sales tax to fund local school building projects?

I'm in favor of anything that will help improve school finances
I will support it if it helps to lower my property taxes
I oppose it because I don't believe it will impact property taxes and I will just pay twice
I'm against any additional taxes
I have not heard enough yet to form an opinion
