Plans forming for former Beatty Lumber property

New owner cleaning up drive-through storage facility

The Development Review Committee heard preliminary plans for a portion of the old I.N.R. Beatty Lumber property at its regular meeting Thursday.

Tom Kinzler, a realtor representing the owner of the portion of the property located north of the railroad tracks and west of Wauponsee Street, north of Adams Street, in downtown Morris, noted it's the old drive-through storage area for lumber. It contains a more-than-200-foot-long storage building and an old grain elevator.

"We want to put up a mini-storage warehouse facility there," he said. "We intend to have the grain bin out of there by the end of next week. We're cleaning up the building."
