Woman sues Coal City, owner of building housing post office over slip and fall
Ruddy seeks $50,000 from both defendants as compensation for injuries, medical expenses
Rennea Ruddy filed suit July 6 against the village of Coal City and Glenn Ferrari over a November 2011 incident in which she slipped and fell on “an unnatural accumulation of water, ice and/or snow” that had gathered in the parking lot of the post office.
On Nov. 5, 2011, according to the complaint, Ruddy used the parking lot attached to the post office, which is located at 495 S. Broadway St. in Coal City and maintained by the village, to access the post office.
