Residents asked to voluntarily conserve water as Lake Decatur levels drop
DECATUR (MCT) — Citing an ongoing drought that lowers Lake Decatur levels by half an inch each day, city officials turned to residents Tuesday with a public plea to use less water.
For now, the water restrictions are a request, not a requirement. City Manager Ryan McCrady said the city could move to mandatory water conservation by the beginning of August if conditions do not improve.
