CHANNAHON — Energy First will be the new electricity supplier for several Will County communities, saving residents and small business owners a current 42 percent on their electric bills.

Communities in which residents voted to join the Will County Governmental League’s electrical aggregation program include Channahon, Braidwood, Coal City, Elwood, Frankfort, Plainfield, Romeoville, Shorewood, Bolingbrook, Homer Glen, and others.

According to Channahon Village President Joe Cook, who serves as president of the WCGL, the league's board voted unanimously during a meeting Thursday to go with Energy First.
