Local dancers raising money for Orange Bowl trip

COAL CITY — Area residents have a chance to win a big-screen TV and help a local group of dancers raise money to travel and dance in a bowl game halftime show.

Mary Jo Major, owner of the Major School of Dance in Coal City, said the school's dancers have been invited to dance in the halftime show of the Orange Bowl, which is New Year's Day in Miami, Fla. Participation in the show is invitation-only.

"It's quite an honor, and since it's been 20 years since we were invited, we wanted to jump on it and take up that opportunity, that's for sure," she said.
