Despite distance, 'Batman' shooting has impact locally

Morris police increase patrols near theater, some residents change plans

Tragedy can affect people anywhere, no matter how removed they are from the devastation.

So when the Aurora, Colo., massacre took place in the early morning hours of Friday, July 20, there was no surprise some people across the country were shaken by it.

"People get scared," Morris Deputy Police Chief Harvey VanCleave said. "It's normal."
