Grundy County officials pitch budget needs

Committee hears requests in advance of setting plan

The Grundy County Finance Committee budget hearings continued Tuesday evening with budget requests from the judicial, sheriff, state's attorney, coroner and circuit clerk departments.

Tuesday's hearing was the fourth of five planned hearings; the last is to be held Thursday. The Grundy County Board has to approve the next budget by November, before the levy can be approved in December.

After the hearings are complete, the finance committee will discuss who gets what and have County Administrator Shawn Hamilton put together the budget.
