High winds damage dugout, topple trees in Minooka

Dugout damage estimated as high as $6,000

MINOOKA, Ill. — While some people in Minooka slept through the wind storm that blew through town early Tuesday morning, others were keeping a nervous, watchful eye on the sky.

Minooka Grade School Superintendent Al Gegenheimer had let his dog out earlier and the sun was coming up. A short time later, the sky clouded over and it looked like rain.
