Farmers have many long-term decisions to make as harvest approaches amid drought
DECATUR (MCT) — With prospects for this season’s crops looking bleak as conditions remain hot and dry, farmers need to be making decisions now that keep them in business in the years ahead.
Purdue University agricultural economist Chris Hurt said Wednesday during the AgEngage Farm Equipment and Grain Quality Conference farmers need to be doing what they can to make money. Some producers will be able to survive financially, but others are facing financial ruin, Hurt said.
