Trade rumors don’t interest Sveum
PITTSBURGH (MCT) — With Ryan Dempster, Matt Garza, Geovany Soto and several other players being shopped and six days to go before the trade deadline, it would figure manager Dale Sveum is on the phone with Cubs’ brass constantly.
But Sveum said Wednesday it has been business as usual, so his conversations with President Theo Epstein and general manager Jed Hoyer have not increased.
