Aug. 2 district-wide registration planned at Dist. 66

Single session to include both schools

NEWARK — Registration for new family and late registration for Newark Grade School and Millbrook Junior High District 66 will be held on Thursday, Aug. 2 at Newark Grade School from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

All current families of District 66 received registration papers in May that were due by May 25. If you have not returned these to the school, you are asked to do so. These papers may be mailed or brought to the school on Aug. 2.

Fees are $90 for K-4 ($80 if paid by Aug. 2) and $95 for grades 5-8 ($85 if paid by Aug. 2). Additional fees include a $10 music fee (fourth grade only, a $40 sports fee (soccer, volleyball, basketball and cheerleading) and a $15 sports fee (track and field).

Kindergarten students need a physical, eye exam and dental exam. Second graders need a dental exam, and sixth graders need a physical and dental exam.

All students are invited to have a popsicle with the principal and check out their class list during new family registration hours.

School opening is Monday, Aug. 20 with a teacher institute day. Tuesday, Aug. 21 is first day of school for students and there will be early dismissal — 1:20 p.m. at Millbrook Junior HIgh and 1:30 p.m. at Newark Grade School.

For all incoming kindergarteners and new students, there will be a New Year’s Eve night on Thursday, Aug. 16 at 6 p.m. at both schools. Students will be shown around and get them familiar with their new school.

All students attending Newark Grade School and Millbrook Junior High are to be registered at Newark Grade School, 503 Chicago Road, Newark. There will be no registration at Millbrook Junior High.
