Lincoln to allow video gambling

LINCOLN (MCT) — Bars and restaurants with liquor licenses in Lincoln will be allowed to add video gambling following action this week by the City Council.

After an hourlong ordinance committee meeting Tuesday in which 13 local residents voiced their opinions, the council voted 8-1 in favor of allowing video gaming machines in establishments that serve alcohol as allowed by a state law approved in 2009. The restaurants and bars must follow state guidelines and be licensed by the state.
