Loading up backpacks with what kids need

Back to School Fair provides needed help preparing for classes

This weekend, almost 400 local students will be prepared to start school in the fall thanks to the third annual Grundy County Back to School Fair.

On Saturday, July 28, at the First Christian Church in Morris, about 385 kids will receive free services to make sure they are ready for school — from getting new pairs of gym shoes to vaccinations.

The fair, which is run by the Community Foundation of Grundy County and United Way of Grundy County, provides services such as vaccinations; physical, dental and eye exams; school supplies; and resources for low-income families so they are prepared for school.
